Copy Chapter 8 data files from Data Disks folder in the P (Professors) drive on the network to a USB drive.
Using Photo Gallery to view pictures in chapter8\Goes in Public Pictures\Sample Pictures folder you just downloaded.
Using Image Attributes to set Paint workarea size.
Open Paint.
Click on the Image menu.
Click on the Attributes option.
Select one of the Units option buttons. Dr. T. suggests inches.
Enter a width into the Width textbox.
Enter a height into the Height textbox.
Click on the OK button.

Use a computer running Vista to work through Chapter 8: Working with Pictures to page 239. While completing Chapter 8, use the following file from the Home Sense folder in the chapter8 folder.
Page 235 - Save HS Logo Color as a jpg and name it HS Color Logo JPG. Close this file and reopen the bmp before you continue with the lesson.

9-1. Use Paint and Word complete the following tasks.
In a 5-inch wide by 4-inch high Paint workarea, create a picture of the finished result of the recipe you created in Word back in week 5. Employ at least three tools in addition to the text tool that is used to name the recipe, but DO NOT include your name in the drawing. The drawing must incorporate at least three colors. Save the drawing in a 256-color .bmp file format and name it with your lastname-recipe. Note: Do not worry when a message box tells you that colors will be lost when saving file as a 256-color bitmap.
Using the linking skill you learned in Chapter 2, insert and link the image to the Word document with your recipe. The steps to link an object using Word follow:
Save image using Paint.
In Word, select the Insert tab.
Click on the Picture button.
Use Insert Picture dialog box to select image from Paint.
Click on the down arrow next to the Insert button.
Select the Link to file option.
Print the document and close Word. Label print out Assignment 9-1.

Go back to Paint and add your name to the drawing using the Text tool. Save the drawing again.
Open the recipe document using Word and update the drawing. Print the document (now with your name in the drawing) a second time. Label print out Assignment 9-2. Save and close open programs.
