The Boy Scouts of America have many fun and exciting trips that scouts can participate in at the national level. Three distinct high adventure bases will challenge older scouts and provide lifelong memories. You can visit these pages by clicking on one of the external links. Philmont is a ranch in Cimmaron, New Mexico owned by the Boy Scouts of America. This ranch is an ideal setup for trek backpacking through the mountains of New Mexico. The Florida Sea Base sends a troop onto the ocean for sailing and scuba diving. Working together as a team is vital to the success of a troop on the open waters. The Northern Tier base on the boundary waters is perfect for long term canoeing trips in Minnesota. Also check out the National Jamboree, it may not be a high adventure but it sure is a great opportunity for fun and leadership.
