DESCRIPTION:
Bond Falls are one of the nicest and most recognizable falls in the Upper Peninsula. Bond Falls are located on the Middle Branch of the Ontonagon River and the upper section cascades down over a series of smaller falls before they drop almost 50 feet over the edge into a large pool. There is a very nice walk way along the North side all the way around the front of the falls. The photograph to the left was taken during a heavy rain storm of one of the many smaller sets of falls of the upper section and taken with a Nikon D200, a Nikon 18-135mm lens ISO 200, 1/350 sec - F/5.6. All the photographs on this page were taken with Aperture priority and the white balance set to cloudy.
The photograph to the right was also taken at the front of the falls and taken with a Nikon D200, a Nikon 18-135mm lens at ISO 200, 1/50 sec - F/6.3.
The photograph below was also taken with a Nikon D200, Nikon 18-135mm lens at ISO 200, 1/50 sec - F/6.3.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:
Any time of day is the best time to take photographs of Bond falls. There are plenty of places to get out of the sun and enough angles to view the falls that one does not need to be overly concerned with the sun getting too high.
