Alger Falls
DIRECTIONS:
Alger Falls are located one mile south of Munising, Michigan and are right on highway M-28. Alger Falls are one of the few falls in the Upper Peninsula one can view from the car; Scott Falls are another waterfall that can be viewed from a vehicle.
DESCRIPTION:
The falls are just a few short steps from M-28. The photograph to the left was taken from the bottom of the falls and taken with a Nikon D200, a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 lens at ISO 100, 1/20 sec - F/8. All the photographs on this page were taken with Aperture priority and the white balance set to cloudy.
The photograph to the right was also taken at the bottom of the falls and taken with a Nikon D200, a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 lens at ISO 100, 1/20 sec - F/8.
The photograph below was also taken with a Nikon D200, a Sigma 18-50mm 2.8 lens at ISO 100, 1/15 sec - F/8.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS:
Early morning and late evening are the best times to take photographs of Alger falls. The falls are out in the open and once the sun comes up the sky will get washed out; be sure to bring a polarizer filter and a split neutral density filter.
