Pros and Cons of MS Paint versus Full Featured Image Editors
While there are many image editors that are much more feature laden than "simple" MS Paint, the venerable add-on to to the Windows Operating System has it own set of admirers. It's benefits include that it is "quick and dirty" with very little training required to perform the tasks it is capable of, that it is bundled with the operating system is is not charged for, and the fact that it is ubiquitous so it is most likely available on any PC that you'll operate. Unfortunately, its simplicity is also one of its flaws. The saying "you get what you pay for" is true unless your needs are only the most basic. There are many full-featured, rich packages available at a nominal cost that most people that have an interest in anything beyond basic editing would be willing to pay. While I frequently use MS Paint, and find it useful, it is not a replacement for more sophisicated software packages.
