The Hornswoggle Family

Of Barnstaple upon Nothing-in-Particular
Cambridgeshire, England

The Hornswoggle line was founded in 1156 By Marcus Aurellian The Extremely Unready (so named because he was unable to defend his costal village after losing his best sword in a dice game, and his second best was in the shop when the Saxons attacked). Unable to bear the shame of his dereliction of duty, he moved to what would become Cambridgeshire and traind to be a scribe.

The family lived in relative obscurity until 1842, when Aloysius Herman Hornswoggle was made Duke of Barnstaple for his valiant and spirited defense of Queen Victoria's virtue against scurrilous, anonymous attacks in the local paper (the Barnstaple Herald-Times-Tribune, circulation 125).

Following is a record of two generations of the Hornswoggle family.
