Aloysius Herman Hornswoggle
m.
Mathilde (Dalyrimple) of Dorking

Aloysius (called Herman by his family and 'Thickie' by his classmates) was known as quite a rake in his youth. When he was made Duke, though, he knew that his second obligation was to provide heirs, that he may pass the title on. (His first obligation, as he saw it, was to ensure that he had at least one sword with easy reach at all times. "Never let it be said that a Hornswoggle is unready," he often cried, having learned the lesson of his ancestor's folly.)

By all accounts, his marriage to Mathilde was a tranquil one, producing four children and only one charge of attempted murder. (Later revealed by Aloysius to have been an accident; he woke from a nightmare thinking that the Saxons were attacking in the person of his wife. Upon being reassured the Cambridgeshire is well inland from any possible attack points, he relinquished the sword.)

The children, in birth order: Mark Paul Hornswoggle, Terpsichore (Smith) Hornswoggle, Luke John Hornswoggle, and Marjorie (Higgenbothen) Hornswoggle.
